SFR SCCA Laguna Seca - Report - video
This past weekend was a SCCA double race at Laguna Seca for the San Francisco Region. I'm happy to report that my 4-speed GForce transmission worked very well. My weekend started taking a turn for the worse when the fiberglass nose of my car cracked in practice resulting in the splitter dragging the ground and causing all sorts of damage to the splitter. Due to the scheduling of the event, I had little time to make lasting repairs and ended up destroying the splitter in Saturday's race. For Sunday's race I ran without the splitter. The car was fast with the splitter intact and quite pushy without it (about 2 seconds slower). I was pleased with my qualifying time of a 1:36.5 and just relieved to make it through the races mustering 3rd place finishes for both Saturday and Sunday.
After twelve races, I am tied for the points lead going into the season finale at Thunderhill Raceway later this month. Should be a barn burner with Shpnout bringing his ripper FD as we battle those evil piston cars!
Here is video of my fastest qualifying lap. It's a bit sloppy and not clear of traffic, but pretty quick.

Hi Alberto,
Sorry to hear you were ill, you were missed at the asphalt beach!
I'll be able to repair my nose, just some glassing and riveting...pretty much like the rest of my car...
