Planning to run the worst example of an RX2 in a road race for the 24 Hours of Lemons.

Basically we have one month to prep a car that has not moved under its own power since 1983.

Thinking ahead to the last step, I'm looking for options for tires that will fit the RX2 (13"). I believe that first gen 13" wheels will also fit?

Lemons rules dictate that the tires must be 200 treadwear or higher. On our Lemons RX7 we run falken Azenis 615K's or Dunlop Direza Star Specs.... no such sizes of these tires seem to exist for 13".

Our car is going to be terrible but nothing sucks more than crappy tires that get greasy or melt / chunk once you hit some corners at velocity.

What is our best option for road race 13" tires? I don't want to spend more than $500 or $600 on tires.

 

Not sure what their treadware is but toyo r888's come in several sizes in 13" for around $150 ea

That place has others as well.
It's the age old problem of finding tires in smaller rim sizes...

If I could find a good set of 14" wheels on the cheap - I'd prolly go that route.

Of course there is the other age old problem of finding wheels in that bolt pattern.
