RX-8 trans in an FC RX-7 racecar

After searching, I can’t seem to find an answer to this question: Will a 2009+ RX-8 transmission bolt up to a non-turbo 13B in an FC?

From what I can find, the RX-8 trans is dimensionally shorter, so a shift linkage bracket would have to be made. Also, the RX-8 trans connects differently to the chassis, so there’d be fab work there to get it to mount in the RX-7. All of that is fixable. My question is does the bell housing bolt up to the 13B? And is the input shaft the same, or does it need to be modified, like when fitting Miata gears in an RX-7 transmission housing?

And before this thread goes the way of the others where people have asked a similar question and been flamed because this is apparently a stupid question, it turns out the gearing for 3rd, 4th, and 5th are almost exactly what I need in my SCCA Club Racing car.

Yes it bolts up. Neither the FAQ or this guy mentions alterations to the input shaft, so I'm pretty sure you're good.

Thanks! From the looks of it, mounting the transmission isn't an issue, and I don't have to worry about the 4" length deficit since I don't have a stereo...or much of a dashboard. I will, however, need to research custom driveshafts.

there is apparently some combination of shifter parts that moves the shifter back so it fits in an FC. this trans is used in the miata, 350/370z and s2000 so there are some options. i would suspect the miata shifter is the one, but don't actually know
