Here's a few weblinks for starters:
http://www.thedriversedge.net/
http://www.texasworldspeedway.com/sched/index.htm
http://www.scca.org/amateur/solo1/index.html
Depending on your skill level and your funds, you can go from strictly time trials/Solo I type racing up to all-out wheel-to-wheel racing. Your (and your wallet's) choice.

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
Also check out www.spec7.org if you want a real racecar on a real racetrack (none of that cone-dodging bull ).
Theres a pretty decent crowd of Spec7's in Texas. Last race there were 13 of them, not including me or my dad. Usual turnout has been more like 10 or so, but it looks like there are several cars being built.

There's an old saying in racing .... "if you have to ask how much it costs, you can't afford it."
