Looks more like the drivetrain of his 4wd 1st gen. The rear end is not a 2nd gen rear and the engine looks like a 12a. Threads about this car pop up periodically and someone always asks about the drivetrain and this pic is always reposted.


Anyone else notice that in 1988 it looks like Rod had S5 tails on his car already?


I really wish there were detailed pics of the 2nd gen 4wd system.

 

I was gonna say... I wasnt feeling the straight axle for the fc. 1st gen i can understand since it came straight axle.

 

finally fixed the sound on my computer and was able to enjoy the footage. sounded so sexy!!!

it is possible that for all the work the went through for the front suspension, they have opted to run a solid axle rear since the FB axles has a variety of final drive ratios in comparison to the FC.

 

Its a race car.. i doubt they use factory axles? OR LSd's
