Unhappy Rain at Solo II Nationals 2003

Rain has set in right in the middle of some of the classes, ASP looks especially screwed as I know Stan and Su are not slow.

Results updated here on the fly.

Photos are posted here.

The rain was apparently real bad at some points. 2 BS cars t-boned on course. Only one was driveable post-collision.

A lot of normally top contenders were caught without rain tires. Rich and Tommy were 2nd and 3rd in FSP (before the DQ) last year and are currently bottom half of the pack.

Final results for SS are up. Today was a shootout. The top three seperated by only .014 seconds!!!

Salerno 113.040
Ramey 113.049
Strelnieks 113.054

The lone FD was 32nd out of 41 in SS who put up good times.

Tommy should've shaved and worn a dress... would've been 3rd in FSPL.

They always get rained on at some point. Seems like they should have the National Championships at a time and place where rain is unlikely.

The S2K incident had nothing to do with the rain, it was a matter of one driver loosing her way on course, stopping once she knew she was lost and the other car not having enough time to stop.

If your lost out there and you know it, don't stop on the exit of a fast corner! It was a bad mistake to learn from, I have a pic of the yellow S2k, it wasn't too bad. Mitches S2K(grey) is pretty much a write off
