What trans do all you PPORT guys run that holds up to the rpms? I dont really feel safe with a stock rx7 trans unless others have done so.

 

I've ran a 81-85 tranny, a 85 gls-se box, and a 89 and up box. They all held up fine to 11k rpms shifts I liked the 85, and 89 boxes for street driving. They have the long 5th gear. If I where serious about racing though, I think I would go with a mazda compition close ratio box. Or a Pineapple Racing close ration gear box. Yeah they cost bucks, but they are nice. CJ
