that is strange. I can't imagine them running MARRS events there like they plan to. It looks very narrow all the way through.

Looks like a KART or MOTORCYCLE track - That transition at the top of the concrete banking looks scary

It would be fun to run by yourself or with an instructor tho.

It looks like the "Carousel" at Nurbergring. I bet it feels quite different to drive in that corner.

Bill Scott actually deliberately modeled that corner after the Nubergring Carousel. I heard something about every corner being modeled after a famous corner from race tracks around the world. Not sure how much truth there is to that though.

I heard that also. I heard the course is really tight, with alot of slower corners. I just don't see how they're going to attempt to hold MARRS events there with 50 car fields.

Does anyone know if this is an add on to the "shenandoah" course or another track entirely?

I heard the modeled after different tracks, and for go-karts. I don't think a normal car would survive... the exhaust would be lying in the middle of the track after the Nurbergring turn...

This is the Shenandoah course.

At 1.7 or whatever miles, I agree, the track isn't really big enough to house MARRS. As for the transitions...I think cars will be fine one the course...will just wish it was a bit wider. The karting guys I know who've seen it so far do seem concerned that some of the transitions are aggresive and could be a bit rough. That being said, I hope I get a chance to drive a 125 shifter on this thing this year...looks like it'll be a blast.

I wonder what the locals think of this new addition. They already HATE the track because of the endless noise almost every weekend. the chief steward gives a lechure every race about taking it easy with the big rigs. "Your not on the track anymore".

SORRY LOCALS.... THE TRACK WAS THERE BEFORE YOU WERE.... NOTHING YOU DIDNT KNOW ABOUT WHEN YOU MOVED IN!!

Unfortunately, that seems to be the case with every racetrack in the country. And while the people really are fuckwads, it's the godamn worthless pile of crap real estate agents that don't tell them there's a track on the other side of their backyard.

I don't know why everybody gives lawyers so much crap, they're like 10 rungs down the "worthless shitbag" ladder than those damn real estate agents...

Its not even the real estate agents necessarily... I doubt too many people who bought there were completely unaware that the track was there until after they moved in. There are plenty of people who will take advantage of cheap real estate someplace, and figure they can apply pressure after they are in, and remove whatever doesn't suit their taste. In the city, thats called "gentrification", and is generally done at the expense of low-income people...

or the real estate becomes too valuable to sustain whatever is there. With west Virginia practically becoming a Washington DC suburb, it won't be long before someone will figure out how much more money they can make by putting a "Target" on that plot of land to serve all of the people who live there now.
