Pedal Assembly

I bought an STU built first gen. The previous owner kept his tilton pedal assembly. I would like to know what are all the benefits to an aftermarket pedal setup. I'm thinking about putting stock in it so I can get this car back on the track sooner. Anyone think that's a stupid idea? Is there anything wrong with running a stock pedal assembly?
