No one can answer my question?

I have asked in two forum sections about this and no one has an answer.

Can we use Torco unleaded fuel additive? The label claims it can up the octane by whole points. If you add one canister to 20 gallons, it bumps it to 97 (93 used as base). If you add it to 5 gallons it bumps it to 107.

Is it safe? Will it hurt the seals? Should I use a lubricant?

I can sure use 95 octane to be safe.

I have used octane additives when doing track days in my 3rd gen. I'm not familiar with the Torco product. The Amsoil octane additive has a lubricant in it. I don't believe these type products will hurt your motor. A better choice might be to run unleaded race fuel. I always run 2-cycle oil in my fuel when doing track days.

The canisters are so easy to carry around, rather than having to carry a large fuel dispenser. I have the link in my favorites, but the site is down. This is where I got it.

I just buy the 100 octane unleaded they have at the track. Yeah it's expensive, but better safe than sorry.

True, but the canisters are portable, and there isn't really a race gas station in my area. They all sell the stuff out of drums and I have heard some idiots don't sell the real deal. I just need something that is safer than 91 octane.

The claims seem somewhat fanciful to me. I used to run NF octance booster (got confirmation from them and Millers that their boosters were both rotary friendly) which made a noticeable difference, but something like a 2 octane gain, not those sort of numbers. I ran boosters all the time in my Impreza as the ECU retarded on pump fuel, just used it as a precaution on my FD.
FWIW I popped engines on booster, but not on genuine race fuel, wish I'd learnt that lesson earlier in life. Race fuel is expensive (160USD for 5 gallons over here) but a lot cheaper than a rebuild.

On a side note having booster leak in your car is not nice. Long term odour problems from it, and it eats through dynamat type material.

I know nothing about charged rotor motors but higher octane is not required for carbed or injected rotor motors. Read a little on the Yaw power site.

I'm going to test it out in the race car next track day. I usually run 1/2 VP racing Motorsport 109 and 1/2 premium pump. I'll keep you informed of how the Torco additive works

Search for toluene/toulene. I have been running it mixed with MMO for awhile. There are dilution charts online. I usually run 1 gallon in a full tank (I seem to remember it being 97-99 when mixed with the 93 here in MI).

My car is down for some upgrades. It will be done in a few weeks, tunning and all. I am going to Gotham for tunning, so I will ask to see what they say about it.

On the toluene, I have the chart available, and yes, its a viable option, but I do not want to buy a whole drum of it to get a good price. where did you get yours and how much did it cost?
