No oil thermo bypass pellet assembly?

My 13b NA has been running strong for a year and a half now. Makes very good power and I change the oil every other race weekend w/ VR1 20w50. I have limited knowledge on its build though as I bought it newly built with receipts from someone else who had it built by Ari at rx7.com a few years ago.

Anyways, its always ran at about 80 PSI under race conditions. The receipts mention some type of high pressure oil upgrade. I also run a 3qt Accusump and ISC pan that I added. On cold starts, it pegs 100+ PSI and I always let it idle for several minutes until the oil temp and water temp is up there before giving it any RPM and taking it out. The last race weekend it wouldn't go above 67 PSI under race conditions, but still did peg 100+ PSI on cold starts.

I decided to check the oil thermo bypass pellet after some research and was going to do this mod http://fc3spro.com/TECH/HOWTO/OTB/otb.html - turns out when I took the eccentric bolt out today the assembly was missing. Only the bolt, copper washer and o-ring were there. Is this okay on a race motor??? Any ideas on why I might have dropped 10PSI or so on oil pressure?

Nevermind, I found the assembly - it was stuck inside and the a little opening of the Accusump valve got it out for repair.
