dre_2000,

I saw on the mazdaracers forum that you autocross a 1990 GXL.

How do you think the car does? Does the lack of a LSD seem to bother the car too much?

I am seriously thinking of getting an S5 to autocross.

The forum looks like it might be good, when there is some more traffic.

It does VERY well. I compete in class CSP with ported intake manifold (matched), K&N intake, headers and stock suspension.

In my last event, i placed 2nd in my class running against several others who have more experience than I. I also beat an M3, 911, '90 Vette, MR-2 and some more.... so it's more driver skill than car....

IMO, these cars are GREAT for auto-x and even road racing. The lack of turbo isn't TAHT much of a hinderance since you dont race against turbo RX-7's .

The LSD would be nice (I plan to get one soon) but auto-x is mainly low-speed (60mph and under) and, trust me, these cars WILL "drift out" and spin around... just make sure your 6-ports are working cuz you need all the torque you can get.
