Momo hub troubles. Doesn't fit that well on FD.

I've read on the forum that the momo hub (#5705) works on a FD eventhough momo says it is for a 2nd gen. I installed the one I got and it has a 1/4" gap between the metal ring on the hub and the front surface of the top and bottom steering column plastic covers when it is fully seated. You can actually see through to the plastic piece that resets the turn signal.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I'm thinking about trying the Sparco hub instead.
