Looking for contacts in IndyCar teams

Hy guys,

A friend of mine runs a very specialized company in automotive engineering.

As IndyCars are turning to Turbo engines he wants to contact some teams to show his products.

Is there anyone out here who works for/is in contact with IndyCar teams who can tell us who to turn to?

We are in belgium/europe so we are quite unfamiliar with Indy teams

Many, many thanks in advance
Neal

Let me see if I can dig anything up. I worked with CART/Champcar from 1996 to 2008. You're not likely to get very far though as the engine leases with suppliers typically note you are not to modify them from as delivered, even so much so as adding a turbo blanket as they've already been engineered/optimized to the nth degree.

I doubt they are going to be interested as they have a lot of engineering and brains behind every inch and detail of those cars.

Indycar goes to turbo engines in the next year or so (2013 sounds right, but I am sure a google-fu expert will correct me) so that is true enough. The issue you will face is that AFAIK all of the teams use engine programs from specific companies, with Honda leading the way. As such, the teams will not be able to do much with anything you might want them to use. You would be better off looking to the companies building the engines and working with thier engineers.

His company is specialized in intercoolers and related optimalisation and is really good. So in fact nothing mechanical. Maybe those are components free of regulations...

It's worth the shot
