BMS2004,

My lola was a 74' T-342 also.
It ended up in York, Pa. and was doing hill climbs and RCCA meets here in eastern Pa.

The domain registrars got together and shitlisted me, apparently. None of them do what they're supposed/asked to do.

Board is alive and well at http://srx7.taylorrotorsports.com and hopefully will be back up at the old Spec7.org address next week. We'll see.

I started racing motocross at age 12, quit at 18 for school, then started racing hare scrambles and enduros in my early 30's. I don't heal as quick as I used to, and I had dabbled in autocross a few times, so I quit racing motorcycles and got into autocross four years ago. I plan to do some Solo 1 and track days soon, and I would absolutely love to do ProRally (or whatever Rally America is going to call it!).

My first autocross was in my 67 Cougar XR7. It was a nice car, but horrible at autocross. There was one turn on the course that was very sharp. The cars turning radius was screwed up on one side, and I couldn't make the turn I bought an 82 GSL (new) shortly after, and started autocrossing regularly. After a few years, I wanted to go into CSP, and compete with the big boys. I bought a 79 base model with a blown engine. The project started When completed, it was very fast. The problem was that I couldn't quite keep up with the nationally competitive "CRX BASTARDS". They always edged me out, and it wasn't because they were better drivers

Initially, I raced with my local club at every event. I also traveled to races anywhere from 200 to 350 miles one way. These races were SCCA regional events, or Pro Solo's. I even raced a number of times in time trials. Then my club lost its lot. Then they lost the lot 30 miles away. Then they disbanded. About a year later, I sold the race car. Now I autocross the FD twice a year at a location about 140 miles away. It's fun, but too far to go on a regular basis.

I drove my first Racing Kart (at a Kart club in Spain) in 1968 at age 12! I spent every peseta I could get my hands on karting that summer. but after that I did not actually drive on a real race track again untill after I got my fd and did an open track event at the Streets of Willow Springs in 2002! In between I took up Alpine skiing (including 3 seasons on my College Alpine Ski race team) and got my speed fix racing on 2 long boards insted of 4 tires

I started circuit racing way back when in the dark ages. I was just a baby, no actually I was 21. I moved from Solo 1, to direct drive 2 stroke karts, to show room stock, to GT and now racing Touring GT (Canadian style of Speed World Challenge). I guess you could say that I have a bit of experience and I have been lucky enough to have either raced on or lapped on most tracks in Canada and most on the West Coast of the U.S..

History

2004 - Touring GT Championship, Touring Class RX7 (1:38.2 Fast Lap)
2003 – Touring GT Championship, Touring Class RX7 (1:40.05 Fast Lap)
Ontario Sprints 2nd Place Finish, Indian Summer Trophy Races
2002 – Ontario Challenge Cup, GT3 Nummelin Motorsports RX7
2001 – Ontario Challenge Cup, Ontario Sprints, Nummelin Motorsports RX7
Cascades 8 Hour Portland International Raceway, Brown Bros. Mustang Cobra R
2000 - Ontario Challenge Cup, Ontario Sprints, 3 Pole Positions, 3 Race Wins, Nummelin Motorsports RX7 Timex 12 Hours of Thunderhill, Brown Bros. Mustang Cobra R
1999 - Ontario Challenge Cup, Ontario Sprints, Nummelin Motorsports RX7
1998 - Ontario Challenge Cup (3 money winning finishes), Ontario Sprints, ST1 and Overall Race Winner EMRA Shannonville Summer Event, Nummelin Motorsports RX7
1997 - Canada GT Challenge Cup, Ontario Sprints, Nummelin Motorsports RX7
1996 - ICSCC Series, Ross Racing Honda Civic
1995 - Cascades 6 Hour Portland International Raceway, Granville Toyota Ross Racing Celica
1994 - Valvoline Touring Car Championship, Hankook Tire Honda Civic
1993 - Michelin Enduroseries, Indovina Racing Suzuki Swift, Touring Championship Winning Car
1992 - Firestone Firehawk Series, NTN Suzuki Canada Suzuki Swift, Hard Charger of the Year Award, Runner – Up Rookie of the Year
1991 - NTN Bearings Formula A Karting Championship
1990 - NTN Bearings National Class Karting Championship,
Overall Series Champion
1989 - CASC National Class Karting Championship 4th Place Overall
1988 - CASC National Class Karting Championship Rookie, 2 Races
1985 - CASC Solo 1 Championship - New Track Record Shannonville Motorsports Park, D – Improved, 2 Class wins
1984 - CASC Solo 1 Championship – 3rd Place D - Improved
1982 - Castrol Sprints Championship, Rookie Class (2 Events)

Like I said, just a bit of experience. My opinion is to get as much track time as you can, as early as you can. If I had started 10 years earlier, I.E. Racing Karts in my teens, who knows where my life would have gone.
