How much does a season of SRX7 cost?
I'm sure there are several on here who participate in scca SRX7 racing. I'm thinking about building a car and just wondering what type of expenses people typically see over a whole season?
I'm not worried about the cost of the car or things like that, just what kind of operating costs to expect.
Thanks
Pat

the car is cheap...
for any race weekend you have;
hotel
food
gas
truck/trailer
spare parts/etc
tires
it depends a little on where you sleep, and how far you go.
$500-1000 a weekend is reasonable

Counting the typical entry fee for a Midwest division race, it runs right at 1200/weekend for my son and I to race in two separate (STU/IT7) classes in our 85 POS-7. This includes all the aforementioned expenses plus a dollar or two for wear and tear and tires. We are RELIGIOUS in our pre race preparation/preventative maintenance and have not had an on track failure of any kind in over two years.

I raced IT7 for my first year of racing, I was under 1k per weekend. I raced with Bud a couple times too, back in 2008 they had really good contingency money from kumho. I think I payed for 4 tires and received 10 more free with kumho bucks. They halved the payouts for 09, not sure what it is for this year.
