Headlight Replacement Change Solo Classing?

It occurred to me just today that my headlights may not be legal for SSM.

The popups have been replaced with a sleek headlight kit.

Anyone else ever considered this?

They just changed the rule in the past year or so. Alternative non pop ups are legal in street mod classes. I don't have the rules in front of me so there may be some minor qualifiers though.

Cool, I hadn't seen that change.

Anyone heard if there are any changes to the hatch rule?

As is in the book, a hatch with glass in it cannot be replaced.

Headlights will be legal swap next year, provided they have high/low beam function and are adequate for road use. It's a bit vague, but trying to put a hard criteria on it would take a novel.

No change on hatches unfortunately. The reality is you should be able to get an FD down close to weight minimums without a hatch replacement anyway.

Thanks Andy.

Too bad we can't replace the hatch, it would save a fair bit of weight.

The issue is the glass, though I suspect this to be quite a bit less of an issue in SSM than SM.
