Grudge Match

My region decided to try something new to freshen up Auto-X events: grudge matches. Everyone bitches I would be , could be, if only I had that other guy's car. The grudge match is the chance to prove it. With the consent of the owner of the other car, you take three runs in his car and he takes three in your car in addition to the runs you do in your own car. If there are more than three normal competition runs (there always are in my region) only the first three in your car for the regular competition count.
The best run from each car is totalled for your time. Best combined time from the two cars wins the grudge match. There were some interesting match ups. A guy that dominates in an 03 Z06 in Super Stock faced off against an H stock mini driver. He lost. I went up against a 94 BMW 325 and 94 miata the next day. Unfortunately the 7 can lose..........when someone else is driving it. I won both my matches, and had a great time driving something different. T-shirts were given to both the winners and the participants. Unfortunately someone didn't record the times when my FD was being driven by the miata driver, so he got more runs in my car than I did in his miata. I edged him out by 5 hundreths of a second.
Thought this form of competition was interesting and I reccomend it if you can trust your friends to drive your car. It really shows who's who among the regulars that compete. You may get FTD in your expenisive machine, but this proves who can drive anything well. I'm looking forward to doing a match against someone that drives a FWD car.

hmmm.. that sounds pretty cool. i wouldnt mind racing someone elses car, but i'm always a little timid about someone racing, or yet alone drivng my car. call it double standards. on a side note, my friend actually lent me his 3rd gen, when mine was in the shop, for an autocross event so i lent him my 712's while i raced on my V710s at the next event. i figured since i killed his tires, id let him kill mine.

was it with the SCCA? i'm not sure if the SCCA NER has done that yet?
