Fuel-Oil heat exchanger

Has anyone considered the use of a fuel/oil heat exchanger? Would heating up the fuel possibly cause detonation? You may be able to counteract that with water or meth injection. There are other ways to cool oil of course, but just a thought..

I did some research and there was a paper about increasing fuel temperature. I havent found anything about performance specifically yet, but i found an SAE paper that seems to be saying that theres increased atomization after a certain rise in heat.

"Raising the fuel temperature up to flash boiling conditions causes a significant decrease of the average droplet size."
Effects of Fuel Temperature and Ambient Pressure on a GDI Swirled Injector Spray

Something else to possibly consider is the effect the extra heat would have on your injectors over time. Idk though, im no scientist..
