You could crash at my place if it was after October, as you remember I'm only 30 minutes from the track, full shop and housing for 100! Sorry to say our olive picker bed and breakfast will be booked solid the weekend your coming up :(

Hi Matt:) Mark, brakes should not be a problem, caliper height is the only issue. my 16x11s fit over the Supras 13.25" brakes NP. As far as accomadations, I may bring the family, I'll let you know.

For tight clearances you might want to check into Wilwood. They have some "slim"calipers that might work for you. I assume your brakes are well ducted?

Thanks John, I'll check it out. I am going to start with a fluid re-circulator, and a rear brake bias delay, and see what the limit of the stockers with pads, and the above is. Yes my brakes have 3" ducting, and the AWR duct pieces. Carl

Carl, your car looks great doing what it was built to do. Glad to see you out there enjoying it finally. That is one mean machine for sure.

As for brakes, the simplest and cheapest upgrade is to go with the two-piece rotors from AWR and have them, along with some new race pads in your stock calipers cryo-treated.
Pads and rotors, whatever you end up using, are only $85 to have treated and will definately pay for themselves.

These guys are in Oakland. Their shop is actually called Conversion Techniques and they specialize in BMW and Porsche racing. Cryo stuff is their "side" business.

cryro is only a surface heat treatment. It is a waste of time and money. A heat treatment may be worthwhile but you should be fine with cast iron rotors.

Carl- you can also cryo wheel bearings, not sure if its as much of an issue with the FCs as FBs, but sometihng to look into...

I laughed too when they told me I should cryo the pads (new) and thought they were trying to squeeze a few extra bucks out of me. It is the same price with or without the pads at the place I use. My pads lasted easily twice as long long but hey, it's only money....

Carl, I am having this done as we speak, at least to the fronts. You and I may have to pay extra-special attention to our wheel bearings as we will be rolling on massive tires that will put our bearings through hell by way of greater lateral loads.
Are you still running the oem front hubs/bearings?

btw, I managed 295/30/18's on 18x11's with room for 315/30's up front along with 335/30/18's on 12x18's with room for 345/30's in the rear and still being able to lower the car to the ground if I choose :)

Yea, I understand from Mark you went wider than the tripoint set-up. I am going to a shorter tire to get the car lower. BTW, I am Re-classed to TTU by John, Oh well... I threatened to protest Mark, but I am really just kidding with him. It will be interesting in the end run to see how the Mega Buck Vert fairs vs the garage built special. So you are putting the dry sump 20B in? What suspension? What shop is doing the body? Maybe I'll shoot down there this week, and check out how the pros put a car like this together. Are you going to use all the ancillary stuff from the 13bt on the 20B? As soon as I finished my car, I wished I had gone about an inch wider, now I'll have to fab some special suspension bits to make it work.

The work is being done by Sears Point Autobody at the track. Steve is about the only one whom I'd trust do do a job like this inn the time frame I need it done by.

Your car will easily be 500+ lb. lighter and probably have an edge in power (until the 20b), not to mention running on slicks. You better be faster. What were your times at Infineon?

I'm selling the 10AE widebody :( but the 20b and suspension are going in the vert.
Most everything for the 20b will be different except for the dual fuel pumps, ic and radiator setups.

I am not sure how he can come up with less than 25 points, 5/tires, 1/seat, 2/gutted rear,7/engine swap, 1/non stock intake, 1/cat back, 2/header, 1/lw fw, 4/ engine mods, 2/final drive change, 1/remove emissions, 2/changed fuel, 1/ dp, 7/coilovers, 3/ big brakes, etc/etc/etc.... One can rationalize that once you do engine, the others are included, but then I'd still be in TTA as well. John said if it's listed you have to add it. Mark, speak up, enquiring minds want to know.
