Finally done! pics.....

So after 2 and a half years of weekends and late nights my ITS car is finally done! Took it out to a NASA event at homestead yesterday to get the suspension sorted out, and break everything in. She got her first 200 miles of track time yesterday, and hopefully many more to come. Thanks everyone who helped out answering questions and with great advice on the forum! Here are a few pics....

Looks amazing, i envy you and your car

One thing though. The aluminum plate you used behind the center gauges, is it extremely reflective? It looks to me at least that it _could_ giving the right circumstances blind you with sunlight

or. i could be seeing something wrong

regardless, nice car

post up some video's

Nice looking car. Looks like the #s may need a more contrasting color though.

Wow, that's quite a nice job. You've inspired me to get cranking on getting mine done (it's 2/3's the way there right now).

Has the car gone through tech yet and been issued a logbook?

Thanks for all the great feedback guys

Shes VERY easy to drive, with the setup we have now its oversteering a bit, although very predictablly. Im gonna adjust a few things in the interior to make it more comfortable (seat, pedals, shifter) as what feels good in your garage can feel like crap on the track after a few laps. Power wise it's running strong, and I think it will be quick in its class against other ITS cars, although it still feels like crap to get passed like I was standing still on the straights by the slew of vettes running out there.

I havent put on the R compounds yet as it was the first shakedown, so things should get quite a bit quicker next time out. The tires we did have on were pretty lacking in grip (cheapo Z rated street tires) and It caused me to get in a little trouble for what the stewards called "drifting" at the end of the day...bit it was all good.

after the third session of the day the oil sender for the oil pressure pilot light blew and oil was gushing out of the engine, but luckily we managed to plug it and keep on running for the rest of the day.

all and all very happy with it.

wrankin...no logbook yet as It still hasnt ran in SCCA. We just ran it in a NASA trackday to get the suspension sorted out. Hopefully SCCA wont give us too much of a headache with it

Fritz, Im on it man! Lemme know when to get started!

CrackHeadMel the center panel wasn't distracting at all this weekend, even with the crazy Florida sun. We do have two little pieces that are holding on the top of the dash that are polished alluminum that reflected a bit onto the windshield, but nothing too distracting.

Congrats, car looks very nice! You got guts for posting all the pics. I thought about posting mine as I recently finished but decided against it. Leaves the critics to have a field day on things they see that don't meet the GCR. I'm not going to even open that can of worms here. You did a great job though!

I'd be curious to see more on what's going on under the hood and a build sheet. Not to question mods but for ideas. Remember - we aren't in the same DIV and I won't ever go to ARRC. I'd even be glad to share pics of mine off the forum.

Are you going to run NASA? If so, have you classed it out yet? I'm having to do remove some items to get to 39 points and only get bumped from PTE to PTD. As is, I'm at 46 points which is PTC.

Agreed. Little things I don't care about - as long as you're legal weight with a legal engine, drivetrain, suspension, etc. and haven't done anything blatent in rebalancing the car, I just don't really care.

But then again, I currently don't even have a license, and my FC is not fully ITS ready (needs a full cage for one thing). So it's possible that my attitude may change once I get out there and start losing to faster cars

you do need to install some FTP lenses, though

Same here. I'm interested in talking about the suspension setup. I'm running fairly light springs and shocks am having some slight understeer issues. I got a track day next month, so I'll try and sort it out then, but would love to compare notes.

Ahh, I was wondering if there was a nice way to move back and forth between SCCA and NASA without losing too much competitiveness. What did you have to remove to make it happen?

Looks to be pretty easy, and the folks at NASA have been very friendly. I'm set for my first NASA at the end of this month. It's really car dependent, check out how NASA does it - (points system) http://www.nasaproracing.com/rules/P...ring-rules.pdf
Class your car with this: http://www.nasaproracing.com/rules/P...ation-form.pdf

You really don't have to do remove anything, you just might get upclassed because of a few too many points. It all boils down to mods, Hoosiers for example are 10pts while Toyo RA-1's are 5pts. For me, to keep it from only upclassing one (39pts) I removed my OEM spoiler so far. There is debate on my splitter, National director says 6 pts, Regional Tech says 2 pts which I agree, no final decision yet. Worse case I can remove my spherical bearing rear control arm bushings and go to non-metallic (3pt adjustment) and I think I can mess around with weight some more to get 1pt. I've already maxed out ballast at 150lbs. I like the NASA rules for our cars, it leaves endless options. From looking at previous lap times, I think I should do fine in PTD.

Awesome looking car!!!

[T&S Hat On] The numbers will be very hard to read at speed & in a group. Need more contrast betweeen the orange and the red. White would do very well, and a slightly thicker font. Remember, tapers have to write down every # as it passes by them doing 100+ and sometimes in a pack of 3 cars which are usually about the size of a model car [/T&S Hat}
