FD 5spd tranmission options

I lost my 3rd gear and counter shaft after about 500 boosted and logged runs. Track, street, etc. Considering options rather than just slapping in a used transmission or getting the stock unit rebuilt or beefed up through a vendor like Pineapple.

What options do we have?

Mazdaspeed has their MPD unit that allows gear changes without dropping the tranny. Anyone know how much it costs?

I have noticed that the '84-'87 Ford Bronco II has a similar case (Mazda made) and wonder if it can be used with the FD's 5th gear assembly. Anyone have any information on this?

Intent is to have a multi-use sports car that might be beefier than just stock for occasional 1/4 runs, auto-cross, track sessions at the local round tracks, or general use behind a 500+rwhp engine.

Appreciate your insights. Cost is a consideration, but would like to arrive at a good compromise.

Tony
