no test needed. change the water and coolant often and the problem wont be an issue. in cars it is more likely corrosion and errosion than electrolysis(sp?). high acid content in cooling systems will cause parts, especially aluminum to dissolve and errosion can be caused from air or dirt in the system. water with air or dirt basicly sands the parts away like a sand blaster or water jet. change and flush the system yearly and all problems will be solved. make sure the system is leak free as well. there are testing kits available to test coolant from your local auto parts stores or tool truck.
