do i need a battery box with an optima?

i just put an optima battery in my car in the passenger bin (i have an 10ae). do i need to have it in a selaed box to race autocross? or can i get away with the bin as a box? if i need a box does it need to be sealed/vented/just a hold down? i'm trying to get my car ready for the season

since it is sealed u don't need it to be vented or cooled... atleast i'm not sure how hot they run.
i've never really went to go see how hot my battery is.

I have a blue top in the same spot with a cnc'd aluminum bar for a hold down. No complaints or tech problems yet.

For autocross? don't worry about it. As long as it's secured.

for drag or road racing, it's a different story.

Cheers: venting is for the gases escaping, not for cooling.
