Couple newbie questions

Some friends of mine were telling me about the local autocross events held by the local sports car club. I've always been more interested in drag racing, but I think I will go to the autocross Sunday. I'm not planning on racing this weekend, but should I decide to in the future, what is a good suspension setup for a FC? Mine is stock with the automatic adjusting suspension and it has an automatic tranny. Is it not recommended to do this with an automatic? I was planning on doing a tranny swap first. I just bought this car this week, but some friends of mine have autoX their FCs and I may want to give it a shot. I've been reading through this forum and have learned some interesting tips so far. Thanks in advance.

Go have fun! You can put your auto in D2 or, 1st or 2nd as those are the only gears you'll need.

You don't have to be competitive to have fun: I spent hours at the autocross @ RotaryRevolution and never even cared about my times! : ) I was laughing all the way down the last straight!

No need to do the tranny swap just to start, go have a good time. Plenty of time for major work once you get hooked.
