The best results that I have use arm and hammer and febreeze. Open the a&h like you would for the freezer. Put the helmet down on top of the a&h with the visor closed. Leave it like this for about 3 or 4 days. Then drench it with febreeze and let it air dry. Repeat untiL the stench is gone.
The best thing to remember is to leave your helmet in a well ventilated place until the sweat dries completely in the first place.

The helmet never gets too bad, usually its the balaclava that stinks.

Ya know whats happening to my helmet that kinda sucks is the way my seat is, my helmet rubs against the roll cage... well the duct tape covering the foam thats covering the roll cage... and that part of my helmet is slowly starting to faid away....

Riding dirt bikes makes for stinky helmets too. Take it in the shower with you, soap your noggin up good with shampoo, then put the helmet on and work it back and forth on your head. Do this a couple of times, rinse it out good, and put it in the sun to dry. Works great (but your significant other will look at you funny).
