I didn't weigh my sunroof assembly but I'd guess the savings is about 15-20lbs...

Weight savings was 20 lbs over the stock assembly (if you include the headliner removal).

I will be soon offering a group buy of sorts for those of you that are interested. I'll update with details when I work out pricing and that sort of thing.

They had the first fiberglass piece at sevenstock. Looked great. I tried to pick it up, but it was already sold. Can't wait to get ahold of one.

Actually, here is the first one, already painted.

It is the prototype seen earlier in this thread.

Once the FD goes up on jackstands for the winter I will install it.

Just got the stock sunroof out and dryfit the fiberglass one.

Looks pretty good - now I just need to fashion some spacers, tighten it down and seal the seam.

According to the bathroom scales the stock sunroof and all associated bits weigh ~22 lbs.

The fiberglass sunroof is ~3 lbs, so a net loss of ~19 lbs, all of it off of the roof.

Bigger pics are available here: sunroof pics

I got my Ronin FRP version installed. It fit nicely, but it needs to be stiffer in the center on the front and rear edges. It seems like it sags in those areas a bit. I needed to lift the front and rear center edges from underneath for it to line up correctly. It wasn't too hard to do.

Great mold Kevin and part Ronin.

I found that necessary as well. As you said, not too difficult to deal with.

When I put mine in, I used 3M window weld to seal it. Once that was cured, it was significantly stiffer.

What 3m Windo-Weld did you use, the roll (what thickness) or the tube?

Thanks for the tip.

The silicone has made it stiffer - I will keep the window weld in mind if the silicone doesn't hold up well while driving.
