Likewise, I'm not sure about this but Mag MIGHT rims might be able to be straightned. CF cannot, no way, no how.
Yup. Overstress a metal one and it will bend, and you may or may not be able to bend it back, and you probably won't crash your car. Overstress a CF wheel and it might delaminate into a million razor sharp fibers. Ever get a carbon fiber splinter? They SUCK.

Yeah, I used to shoot archery in college. Recurve bow. Had some arrows that were 100% carbon fiber shaft. Tip was metal insert glued in, knock plastic glued on, synthetic or plastic feathers glued on.

Talked to a guy who had one shatter on him when he released it. Right next to his face. Little pieces of carbon everywhere , most ended up in his inner forarm or chin.

Everyone said once you can see a hairline cracks throw it away or it can explode. And that's only a 25-45 pound pull bow. Imagine the forces at play driving 80mph and hitting a pothole or slapping concrete?

But damn they were light, sometimes I had the fastest arrows on the field.

I just don't see the need for an all carbon wheel at this time. Why not try titanium, at least it's metal and still light.

I just got an ad in my email from the dupont registry. Apparently 360Forged wheels is an advertiser now. They're only wrapped in CF and they're a bit heavy. But you can't deny that they're sexy lookin'.

...and a CLK Black Series with Dymag wheels. (The leather stiching on the roll cage is also a nice touch).
