CAD/CMM Information on 13B

I'm currently working on designing a tube frame model for a car I'd like to run a 13B in. I'd really like to model the engine (or at least mounting points) into my model. Has this been done on any of the 13b engines?

If you know what a CMM is, I think you would make one before you could find one, sowwie

Haha, I figured that would be the case. It just sucks that with all the people on here that no one would get a shot at this! We've got one at my college but they're usually pretty damn **** about who gets to use it. I might have to try and do some convincing and see if I can't get something near accurate. I'll be back with one if i can pull that much off :-)

I use Wildfire V2 at the moment but I've been kind of wanting to move towards CATIA V5.

If you guys can get me some dimensions, I could do it for ya. I'm a mechanical design engineer and my company uses Solidworks for Computer drafting and solid modeling. It shouldn't take too long to do it.

Oh I have no problem making the 3d model of the thing at all. it's the measurements that are a pain. Some CMMs are able to actually create the 3d object as well which makes it a lot easier, otherwise you end up with a ton of planes, points and lines and you have to pull a solid object out of it.

Good luck, What project is this under? I have a CMM here at work, but don't have access to the laptops that are directly connected to them. I can ask if I can get access, maybe you could do this at my work on a weekend. When do you need this done?

Oh, by the way I'm a test engineer at Freightliner, which is located on Swan Island north of Portland.

Ditto with my company - we have a good CMM but they are really strict about never using work equipment for personal stuff.
