Bolt in Cages?

Bolt in cages in SCCA are no longer legal...... right???

So- if a guy has a racecar that has a bolt in cage....unbolt and have a cage welded in.... or do you have to cut the roof off....

Umm, where was that announced? Recent fasttrack? Which class?

If the car was already issued a logbook then at least it should be grandfathered in. Otherwise all those Spec-7 guys where they require a bolt-in cage as part of the spec line would be SOL.

[edit] I just looked through the latest updated GCR. The rules changed for the Touring class and require weld-in cages on all cars after 1/1/2008. The IT class must meet the reqs for Showroom Stock which allow for bolt-in cages.
