Best Place to Store Tires for Long Time?

I know if you store tires outside with in sunlight and/or water they can rot and crack. So where is the best place to store tires for extended periods of time for this not to happen? Inside the house?

I thought they sell tire bags, to store them. That way the oil in the rubber don't evaporates. Have also seen some temp and humidity controlled warehouse to store tires. Don't know the exact temp/humidity though...probably > 50%

Ideally you seal them in a dark plastic bag and keep them in a dark, cool place. You don't want humidity in the bag as this moisture will actually try to displace the oils in the rubber. Sealing the tire in the bag keeps seals the "oils" in the rubber from evaporating away. Deflate the tires as well if they are mounted. The compressed air has moisture in it and leaving it in there traps it.

Newer tires are always better than older tires but this is the best way to store them

Even with "proper" storage techniques, don't plan on storing them longer than two years without a serious degradation of their performance. They may not develop "stress/aging cracks" between the tread blocks, but their grip levels will suffer. Tires start to degrade the moment they come out of the mold.
