Beater 85 GS worth restoring for auto-x?

I have a stock 85 GS with 233k miles Ive been using as a beater for about 5 years now. Engine runs good and its running on the third tranny from the junkyard (tranny probably has about 150K). Suspension is stock everything except for the tierods are originals from the factory. Would it be worth the time and money to restore the suspension and auto-x it. Is the chasis too outdated? Will it compete in any classes? How much am I looking to spend? Thanks in advance.

You would be in E Stock, so no the stock chassis is not very competetive (going against miatas and Mr2's). It is definitely a BLAST to drive though and will allow you to hone your skills before moving on to a higher powered car. Just the shocks and pitman arms will make a HUGE difference, a front sway will as well. It's what I run, and i have a blast every time (gsl-se though).
