Auto-x/SCCA racing in WI/Chicago area?

I'd assume there's some SCCA racing up at Elkhart Lake, but as stated, that's an assumption. And as far as auto-xing is concerned, I have never heard of one here. Is there one in Wisconsin, or somewhere around the chicago area because I'm in southeastern WI.

For autocross go to www.autocross.com and see who is in your area. Good Luck!

there are autocrosses held at miller park in milwaukee if you are interested, both scca, and wai, another autocrossing club. i believe the next race is in two weeks. you can go to waiautox.org for a schedule.

There are a few clubs close. As wairx7 said, look for the WAI club, as well as TSSCC, and the Chicago region SCCA. I am in Chicago, and used to run in TSSCC and SCCA. I want to get back into it once my car is fixed, but will probably concentrate more on track days or driving schools.

Also, slightly off topic, check out the Midwest Rotary Rally - it is in your neck of the woods. It is not racing your car, but there is a lot of rotary/Mazda racing to watch, and you get to drive your car on track at fairly high speeds during the touring sessions at lunch time. It looks like they have touring sessions on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Cost is $50, and it is an awesome track to drive. You get about half an hour, and the speeds are supposed to be limited to 80 MPH, but they are lenient as long as no one is doing anything stupid. It was awesome last year to run around with full-on race cars, vintage Cobras, 911s, Vipers, etc.

Check the link below for more info.

Cheers,

Steve

on track autox

we are at blackhawk farms all the time with Midwestern Council (#2 to SCCA) to autocross on the track. the club is based out of chicagoland area and 4 of the 5 events each year are at blackhawk and the other one is up here at gingerman. i have never done a parking lot autox but i assume most things are hte same, we let one person go and about 20 sec later the next goes and we do time trials. they have a street tire class as well as regular classes for modified and race cars. we run a 1st gen D-modified and pull lap times of about 1:36. if its your first time on track you get put into a novice group which has its own special practice group and you can even get an instructor in your car for your practices. this helps out alot. check out http://www.nsscc.com/opentrack.html
this is one of the brances of MC that we belong to you can find most of the info there.
