anyone intrested in carbon doors and rear hatch

hi,

I was wondering if anyone would like full carbon doors or a rear hatch for a FD. Of course these would not be legal for the street and would only be good for the track. for the doors, they would not have windows and for the rear window, it would be full cf so you would not beable to see out the rear. I personnaly have never driven on a real track so was wondering i this was a good idea. I have always had an idea of putting a mini cam (possibly with a fish eye lens on it to get a wide angle shot of the rear) facing rearward and a small/light lcd screen on the dash or where the stock rear view mirror is currently located. What do you think?

Why not just use a lexan rear window?

If you could incorporate the window into the rear hatch, I would be definately interested. Don't even worry about the stock relaese, but maybe something like hood pins instead. There are two lexan windowws mazdacomp offers, an insert fo the existing frame and one that replaces the entire frame and glass. For racing the entire unit is the way to go, but cosmetically iyt is not. That leaves the glass insert for the existing frame as an option, but obviously does not reduce as much weight. I have been looking forever for just the rear frame made of cf so I can have the best of all worlds. Get it done and name your price, I know I would not be the only one interested.

how much would you be willing to spend for the fc rear hatch and you want a full cf version correct? (no lexan)

you could probally cut the carbon and put in a plexiglass/lexan window in there anyways

in anycase i dont got a fc but might beable to get my hands on a friends one if i offer him some money or something.

i should have bought that 400 dollar turbo 2 that wendel got hehe but i already got 3 fd's (wtf am i gonna do with anotehr car???)

Depends on the quality of workmanship and also how much modification it would require. I would want one with the lexan or at least the option to put it in myself. Just to throw a few numbers around in the ballpark, I would say anywhere from $300 - $1500.
