Nope, this is only when the car is running. When the car is off the booster does nothing.

we've resealed a couple ABS units, and they do get filled with crud, i'm not sure what it is, but everything gets coated in this black crud. i'm fuzzy on the FD system (we took the FC one further apart), and there are spots that are not always seeing brake fluid.
the FC system modulates the brakes by literally bleeding fluid off into a separate chamber, for each circuit (RF,LF, and R), these chambers are normally "dry" the couple we've done have actually made a difference in the way the brakes feel/act if you have done everything else, it might be worth a look |

So is the pedal still soft when the car is off? (Sorry, I swear I read you say earlier it didn't matter if the car was running or not. But I don't see it now.)

I am having the same problem after I installed a "reman" 929 MC. See this thread. IT seems there are a few guys who have had problems with multiple MC's. Sound like the same issues I am having. https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/929-mc-install-issue-749878/

That would be great, I don't have the money unfortunately. I may end up buying your low mile ABS if you still have it.
