I'd run my car in ITS but i'd have to figure out a way to get a dashboard back into it....which would actually be a ton of work at this point...also would have to move the battery back into the engine bay and that would actually take a bunch of wiring work to accomplish.

Good luck!

Depends on how much you want the good competition. Dash can be temp. battery requires two wires.

Looks like 14 ITS entries in the ARRC. Good field but only 2 RX7s. Going to be a great race!!!

Trans problems again, but wow, does this thing handle GREAT!!! At minimum had a podium car but only got to run two laps of the spring race before I killed 5th. guess I'm going to actually pay someone to build a trans for me, dammit man!!! See vimeo.com/110789663

Cool video and interesting run group. Just a question, why do you pop the car into neutral at the end of the back straight before selecting 3rd (?) for the left hander. I have never seen that before. Does it settle the car before braking? You could tell the box was on its way out from the middle of the first lap. It was grinding going into every gear, that's how mine sounded during the 3 hour. Barely lasted.

Also, the car did look like it was on rails. There is always next year.

I'm still trying to get accustomed to the gear box. I have gone 5th 1st in 10A so I now go to neutral first to make sure the spring centers the gear lever for third. It works for me.

To cure the 5th/reverse problem I'm going to make a block out plate to prevent me from getting reverse when I want to go to 4th!! Sometimes it is hard to teach old dogs new tricks!!

You BMW drivers........

The one shift that most new guys have trouble with in my car is the 2nd to 3rd shift. Most guys miss it about a bazillion times before they get the fact that its easy and you don't need to guide the shifter.

Yes, I only made two laps. However, Hal Corbin in a sister SpeedSource RX7 won. Good news for me is that I now like the car because it does what I want it to when i want it to do it!! Very comfortable and actually faster than Hal's in several places, like T1. Transmission issues are fixed, I hope, since I made a shiftier gate that has a spring loaded lockout for reverse. Pull the theater to access reverse!! I'm now looking forward to next year....can't wait to get it back on the track.

Hi Chuck, I just saw this thread. Glad I was able to build you a great transmission. Be nice to it, some parts are becoming scarce! I look forward to seeing you at the track soon.
