1983 RX-7 GSL - First-Gen Build
The Car: 1983 RX-7 GSL
Background:
I got this car from a friend who tracked it every now an then. It was a nice, reliable track machine, but still fairly heavy and not quite developed. I changed all of the fluids and got the car caught up on track prep. The braking system received some attention as well. The PO had spent a lot of money refreshing the 12A and the transmission. The car also came with a good suspension, RB exhaust system, worked carb, huge electric fan, Momo race seats on custom mounts and sliders, rollbar, harnesses, short shifter, velocity stack intake, two sets of wheels, and some other nice items.
As Purchased:
During the Build:
I got a substantial amount of weight out of the car, and I also was able to move the weight bias toward the rear by relocating the battery and making a couple other changes. The heater core and air conditioning were fully removed, along with the dash. I kept all of the old parts just in case, but the car handled so much better without the extra weight.
Instructing at VIR:
I have started a side business developing racecars and coaching drivers, so I don't have the time to develop the RX-7 that I had originally planned on. Originally a few of my driving buddies were going to help work on this car and develop it into something further, but thus far it has mostly been me working on it and preparing it for events. I am going to sell the car in the near future due to a need to cut down on the amount of projects on my plate.

Does anyone know of someone looking for a car like this? It has a lot of good parts on it and a fairly extensive spares package that comes with it. Not to mention, it is almost a fully-race-prepared chassis.
