13B REW Side Alternator Mount
Not seeing much for an REW side alternator mount out there. Most seem to state being for earlier model engines. Which I thought it might be a pulley alignment issue, but a few only mention needing to swap covers. This particular situation is different in that this engine will not have a factory front cover, nor the additional forward mounting points for bolting on a side mount. I’m not understanding what the actual OE front cover difference/issue is. Sent out a few email inquiries and got the now-usual post-covid cold shoulder treatment. It is a true race application (EWP adaptor, no other belt driven accessories). There’s not anything else bolting onto the side of the front iron and there appear to be three open threaded holes and a stud all on the same surface plane for max mount stiffness with a suitable custom plate if it comes down to it.
A custom plate mount is not really a big deal, just trying to see what the readily available options might be, if any?
TIA.

The front cover has two studs to locate the bracket, bracket goes basically across the front cover/front iron
if you go from the Early stuff to the FD the front cover studs move, and then they move again for the Rx8 (i think)
for instance if you put an FD engine in your FC and want to run the PS/AC there is one stud on the front cover that doesn't line up.
pics!
this is an ERC PS bracket, it mounts the PS lower, so you have room for the FD upper and IC piping

ok, thanks for clarifying that for me, not that familiar with the earlier stuff. The RX8 Renesis cover has the AC compressor mount there.
I have a guy in south Florida working on it for me. I knew about him, but didn’t mention it while waiting for a response to my inquiry. He has an FD specific version, but it only uses the top two iron mounting holes along with the cover support, and also has a rotor-shaped lightening hole in the mounting plate. I asked him to include mounting for the one stud on the iron and keep the plate solid. That should do it imo.
I was concerned about the others out there due to lightening holes machined in the mounting plate for weight reduction. That’s all fine with it also bolted to the cover support, but with it only being mounted off the iron I was concerned a lightened mounting plate might flex, crack, or break. I don’t need a headache over a few ounces of aluminum.

Team, I double-check mine, and it also uses the front cover studs that j9fd3s shows above. It was a third triangulating mount off the front iron. You can just see I mounted with the single button hex into the black iron tab. Because it just triagulates, it's a minor structural component of the mount. I looked but I don't have any better overall pics, but hopefully this is a piece of your custom puzzle...

ok, thanks
if it cones down to it I figure another piece likely could be added to bolt in a forward support or heim joint strut between a front cover bolt to the forward end of the mounting plate.
I figured something similar may have been used on various road race engines from the past, but have struggled to find any pictures of them. It used to be in days long past that you could google up anything and everything, but now a search only results in ads and woke garbage being shoved down our throats …
