speed_monkey = worst buyer so far

I sold him grey rear hatch carpet and the hatch lock plastic pieces. He wanted the B-trim peices and since they were pretty damaged, I agreed to throw them in for free. While I was trying to find a box for them, they broke. I told him they weren't going to be included and never heard from back him.

I was a little slow with the shipping but as far as I know you have up to 30 days to ship. His payment was sent on March 17th. I shipped on April 9th. So I was fine there on the time.

He claims that he emailed me twice, which he did NOT. He is also claiming that he didn't authorize the CC for paypal. I shipped to his paypal confirmed address so what the F__!?!

Here is the LAST communication we had on the shipping date, 04-09-07, written by me. I have heard nothing from him since.

hey there,
man I am sorry for the delay, **** has been crazy lately. I DID ship the carpet and the hatch covers, but the b trim peice broke. So, it was pretty fragile and more messed up than i thought.

coming your way via fed ex.

#################

this is the number they gave me to track, doesnt look like what i'm used to getting from fedEx, but try it out.

What can I do to protect myself so he is unable to take my money, since he has the goods.

he never said anything about being in a rush, i just thought that after 30 days of not shipping an item, it was considered bad business... anyone else play by that rule?

30 days is too long to ship for non special order items. 5 business days is standard shipping time for individuals and businesses. I'd be pretty pissed off if you shipped 23 days after I paid too.

I think the buyer has a legitimate bitch with you as a seller. Sure, the pillar trim getting broken is a moot point since it was free regardless, but the shipping time on the items that WERE paid for is unacceptable.

i totally understand that i took a little too long, but i was under the assupmtion that legally, a business has 30 days to ship. I am not a business.

Also, I did communicate to him twice before I shipped letting him know I was a bit behind.

Besides, I think you two who responded above are missing the point. The shipping time isn't this complaint.

I agree that I was a bit of a jerk about the shipping, but i DID ship it to him and he is trynig to say that he didn't authorize the transaction on his card. Thus trying to retrieve money from my paypal account.

What am I supposed to do about that?

Paypal requires you to ship within 7 days of payment to be covered by the seller protection policy.

okay, thanks for the info. now i know the policy.

Shipping isn't the complaint. So thanks for all your great input on the wrong subject.

he is trynig to say that he didn't authorize the transaction on his card. Thus trying to retrieve money from my paypal account.

He is trying to say it was a fraudulent charge when clearly it was sent of his own accord. You are trying to say you honestly thought waiting 30 days to ship was acceptable, when again clearly that is not the case in reality. You are both wrong.

As for what you can do about it, if you can prove shipment and receipt/delivery of whatever the payment was sent for, you shoud be pretty much in the clear, even though it may take a few weeks to clear it all up.

thanks Kevin. I know you've been through this stuff before (at least the fake fradulent part) and I appreciate your advice.

I will be much more prompt in my shipping from now on. Anyone else responding, please realize that the shipping isnt the issue here. I admit that I waited too long, but the goods were sent and I have all the documentation to prove that.

The issue lies in speed_monkey trying to get his money back, when he recieved the goods.

provide proof of the tracking#'s to paypal and wait for their responds. Maybe there is some kind of misunderstanding so contact the buyer again and try to resolve the problem, good luck.

hopefully this thread gets burried real deep because this issue was really just a huge misunderstanding.

Speed_monkey is a FINE buyer. He put up with my slow shipping and didn't throw a fit about it at all.

The CC dispute is because of ID theft. He had a case of ID theft and his CC company is just investigating all avenues. He responded to me and is going to stop the paypal claim against our purchase.

Thanks Speed_monkey for being a chill and patient buyer.
Nick
