Anyone knows 209FD?

I was wondering if anyone has heard from 209FD/Daniel lately or knows him on a personal level?

Long story, short: he auctioned off a set of rays gramlight 57pro on ebay with no reserve and I won it at a low price. I believe it is the same set that he was selling on here. After the auction, he told me that his paypal account is frozen and thus, could not receive payment via paypal. I then replied, asking for an invoice and another payment option to no avail. If any one knows him on a personal level, please feel free to direct him to this thread.

Thank you in advance!

If I had to guess, I would say that he sold them out from under you....look at this post:

Just a guess, he certainly could have had more than one set of wheels, but like I said, its a guess. Chances are good that he didnt want you to pay for them because of the low price that the auction ended at. But thats his fault for not setting a reserve price, and in the end he is legally bound to deliver the wheels to you for that price. Unfortunately, you will probably have to take him to court over it to get anything from him. In the meantime, I have asked him to weigh in on resolving this, and he is not allowed to list things for sale on here until this is resolved properly.

OK, he moved to the Philippines a few years back from the look of things. And he just told another member that he was leaving the country on 12/30....so he probably was here in the states for a little while, and while here he tried to offload the parts he still had. The first time he tried to sell these same wheels was in September 2008 on this forum. My guess is he's long gone back to Manilla, but he has still been online on the forum since then, he was on here earlier today.

Thanks for looking out rx7roller02.

I had a feeling that he would not be willing to let the wheels go for that cheap. However, what quirked me was that he sent me an email outside of ebay after the auction ended, telling me that he's still willing to sell me those wheels:

I mean, if he already had another buyer in line then why even tell me any of that at all? Of course, this is all speculations as Dan could send me an invoice with a paypal address any day now..

What I noticed was the when he listed the wheels on ebay was that he also listed 8 or 9 other high end items. I guess he's was trying to offload parts like you said. If that's the case then I'm sure selling/shipping some under-priced wheels were the least of his priorities..

yeah, but heres the thing--when someone lists an item for sale in an ebay auction, and the auction ends with a high bidder, that seller is legally obligated to complete the sale. It doesnt matter if he got what he wanted for the wheels or not--he should have set a reserve price on the auction. He didnt. that is no reason to back out on the obligation he has. To top it off, he then tried to sell you the wheels outside of ebay. So, he violated their seller policies when he tried to sell the wheels to you separately from the auction, and he violated their policies by not honoring the auction. That's a lousy way to leave someone hanging. He recently told someone else on the forum that his paypal was not working, and he offered to accept another payment--he actually suggested Western Union as one of the options, I believe.

I truly do not think he had another buyer in line--I think he decided to sell the wheels to someone else because of the low bid price on the auction. I think he decided to sell these to someone else to get more money, and thats just a crappy way to do someone. Look on the auction--he waited until the very end of the auction to cancel all the bids. Why would someone do that? He listed his reason for canceling the bids as "the item has become damaged", yet he emails you right after the auction ends and says he will still sell you the same rims that he lied to ebay and the other bidders about as being "damaged"? I smell a rat. The only reason that makes sense is the fact that the bidding was so low, and with 6 minutes left in the auction, he saw he wouldnt get the money he wanted to get for them. So he lied to ebay, lied to the bidders, and cancelled their bids so he could sell the rims for more money elsewhere.

Not only do I smell a rat, but after researching the guy online and finding that he poses as a model, I actually threw up in my mouth a little bit too....but thats a story for a whole different thread.

Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place, but I had problems with him as well. I bought a greddy temp gauge from him. He didn't ship out until 1 week later when i reminded him about the gauge because he was on vacation or something. I can't seem to get the guage working with his harness either. He told me he was gonna send me the original harness and give me back 20 dollars for all the hassle, but that hasn't happened either. He told me he was going to the philipines too. He's probably there now.

I personally know Dan. He is a very good guy to deal with and also very knowledgeable with FDs. I haven't spoken to him for a long time because he travels back and forth to the phillipines quite often. It seems like he is just caught up with stuff.
