Working on a new PowerFC FAQ - need some input

Hey guys -

Seeing as I'm now the proud owner of a PowerFC and Commander (it's on the way!) I'm gettin' excited about it. When I get excited about stuff, I start writing . I just started on a more-or-less comprehensive PowerFC FAQ - I want to try and get all the common concerns and information together in one place.

One thing I'm working on is a list of serial numbers for FD PowerFC's. I'd like to have it solidly documented so when you go to buy a used PFC, you can look up the serial number and make sure it works with your application. If you guys could let me know the serial number that's printed on the side of your PowerFC and what your car is (93-95 RX-7, 96-98, or 99-02) that would be awesome.

I'm also needing more info on the Commanders, but some of that I can research up. I believe there's some issues with using older Commanders on earlier PFC's, and vice versa.

I'm currently working on the buyer's guide section of the FAQ, ergo these questions . I also plan on adding how to tune the idle, what to do when the commander's screen doesn't work, all the questions I see frequently . If you have something you'd like to see added, let me know.

Thanks,
Dale

Thanks! I'm trying to sort out the serial numbers on the side of the unit. I believe there's a model number and a unit-specific serial as well.

Hehe - I'm plannin' on it . I just got my PowerFC this morning - I'm gonna be doing a full documentation and writeup on everything about it, including before/after horsepower, etc.

BTW, I've got the serial numbers totally figured out and in my FAQ that I'm working on.

Any other input you guys might have for the FAQ or things you'd like to see, let me know. I'm shoving pretty much EVERYTHING there is to know about the PowerFC in there.

Is this necessary? it tells you the correct application for the serial number on the side of the box.

The Program String (Engine Code) and Version would be nice too. The software interface and settings are a little bit different for each model. For example with the older models only one cell can be read or written with one command, the never ones can read like 3 columns with one command.

414- = Power FC
N = Nissan

415- = Boost Control Kit or Commander

I got this all figured out in the FAQ. My main purpose for this was to help peole looking at buying a used PowerFC.
