Hello! I have developed (spent about 3-4 years working at this project as a hobby) a wireless transmitter for PowerFC that can completely replace FC Datalogit as a tuning tool and gives the best in the market functionality as a dashboard (including hardware dashes) via RealDash app (iOS/Android/Windows).
I called it "Wite". What it looks like:
Technical details:
- direct connection to PFC, no additional adapters needed
- can communicate with new (16bit) and old (8bit) Power FC CPUs
- can read up to four additional external analogue sensors (pressures, temps, etc.) and feed the signals to dashboard or fcEdit - can read digital output from wideband gauges (no more of that stupid calibration of analog outs and signal noise/offset due to ground loops!) - Wifi connectivity (iOS, Android), optional Bluetooth (Android)
- communication with FcEdit (other software untested so far) for tuning by wire or Bluetooth
- can change PFC settings from dashboard (smartphone) instead of FC Commander
The RealDash app capabilities include:
- convert and calibrate any incoming data before displaying as a gauge
- very flexible logics for alarms, warnings
- huge variety of customizable dashboards
- excellent logging possibility (analyze it yourself right at the track, or shoot to your tuner via messenger!) and nice log viewer
- insert google map (navigation), rear camera video, music player right into the dash
- send commands to PFC via buttons, sliders.
- send all the data from your car to cloud server for remote monitoring (professional track tool!)
You can check RealDash site, forum, youtube channel for more info
Some screens of my dashboard:
Sample wiring configuration from my car (Silvia S13):
As a bonus, I'm planning to add the following features (it will depend on the popularity of the adapters):
- Wifi connection to FcEdit (already tested, but requires some time to finish). Provides transfer rates that are just as fast as a wired connection and 2-3 times faster than Bluetooth. Fully galvanic isolation of laptop from the car. And cool fast connection, without any mess with the wires.
- Upload/download all the PFC maps from your smartphone. Track, Street. Lo-Hi octan maps for example. Or use itfor remote tuning. - Real-time ignition/fuel control, based on knock value! Killer feature for PFC, that I always wanted to have. PFC has almost the best knock detection algorithm, but no ign retard capability. I can try to pull out timing, give more fuel temporarily, based on knock value in real-time. It will be adjustable for sure.
- Limp mode and shutdown your engine in case of low oil pressure(or something other criticals) for safety reasons. - Antilag/Pro Start. Didn't give it much thought yet, but I reckon there are ways to do it.
At the moment, I have tested it on Nissan/Toyota/Subaru PFC, but not Mazda's. And it's Mazda's PFC that has some differences in settings and telemetry. So, I need some testers for make a complete solution for Mazda.
For starters, I need one person with a 16bit ECU, one of these:
FD3S4, FD3S5, FD3S6
And one with a 8bit ECU:
FD3S, FD3S2, FD3S3
I'll send the adapters to you, and then I will ask you to do some tests. So, it would be great if you had knowledge in automotive wiring and electronics.
Please, pm me, if you'd like to give it a go.
Thank you!
Hmm. It turned out that I cannot reply to private messages until I have collected a sufficient number of posts on the forum (3-4). Please reply then in this thread or send me your contact email.
And it will be very useful, if you plan to use it with at least one additional sensor (fuel pressure, oil temp, etc.) and AEM or Innovate wideband controller.

Reason: added first tester

Do you mind sharing how this works at the code level? I developed a software solution (no hardware) that can read data from a PowerFC and share it over bluetooth low energy to an iOS app (no wifi needed), but I have not found any documentation around how to write data back to the PowerFC to do something like you describe, such as controlling ignition timing. If you're willing, I'd love to know the commands you're using to do that
you are still looking for some testers? I have some older PFC here and do also Mapping with it maybe i can help you out.
only Problem is I live in germany.
Hello! Thank you for interest!
The first batch, assembled by myself, has already ended. I ordered a large one from a factory in China and waiting for fabrication and delivery now.

Hi, congrats on making such an awesome project. Could you please put me down for your new adapter and also as a tester. I have an older PFC on a '94 FD3S.

I'm interested for sure I'm a buyer
I have a 2001 with powerFC z006
I live in Saudi Arabia and we don't have that rx7 culture, so I learned how to fix my car myself
If you didn't find a tester for Z006 hit me up I'm free this month and focused on learning
My tuning abilities aren't good, I know all the basics but didn't tune anything, my car experience is very good, and my knowledge in rx7 is increasing daily, ive owned my car for 4 years it was a Jdm
by the way when do you think you'll finish testing it on rx7s? I want to buy it as soon as possible
Do you have any videos of witedevices operational in a car? Like maybe on a stereo headunit etc? I searched on Youtube but only found a couple of videos that weren't useful.
