What really happens when you reset the PFC?
Can someone tell me (first hand) what happens when you reset (Initialize?) the PC from the settings menu?
Does it go to the "base stock" maps, or the "base mod" or does it go to some ugly defaults (like 100 for all the fuel corrections).
Someone recently did this... if I could only remember who....
thanks,
-Erik

It resets back to the way it was shipped to you. In my case, that was Base Mod.
Despite what others say, I believe Ray at SR Motorsports alters the correction maps, and not the base maps as XS does. Therefore, and I'm guessing here, if you were to Initialize a PFC bought from SR Motorsports, it would be reset to the way it was shipped to them (Base something), and thus you would loose what you paid them money for.
Chuck's PFC was initially tuned by Ray, and he has reset it numerous times. He could probably set us straight on SR-tuned reseting.

Interresting. Since the fuel correction maps are the same for the two base maps - it sounds like it will always reset back to that.
But how does the timing work? There must be base maps for leading and trainling ignition (??). I wonder if FC-Datalogit can change these, or whether they are read-only for resets.
Is there any way to determine what set of base maps your unit would reset to - before doing it?

When I re-initialize my PFC, it returned to the same values for all initial settings from Ray; except for the fuel map. I know this because I had recorded all the values on the PFC when it arrived.
The fuel and timing were reset to base mod.
