Hmm, I've seen spikes of 101 to 112, under hard WOT to redline. During normal driving I see 20s. No ill effects thus far?

In the voice of Yoda..

"You will, you will be"

unless you knock sensor is giving you false readings, see if it's torked down tight or not...

Don't know where the knock sensors are. I've read the microphones might be picking up other engine noises. Others have posted the knock readout is worthless?

It's a good to check item that can alert you to somthing that could be wrong if you have one that works properly. It is mounted just above the top spark plug on the front rotor and has one wire that connects to the engine harness just behind the altenator on top of the front rotor housing. If you have any loose engine mounts or drive train items etc that can clunk around under acceleration this can somtimes account for erronious readings. Ie. broken PPF or really shitty bumpy roads can even do it if you have stiff suspension.

However usually if it reads low until you hit upper rpms under high boost on a smooth road it's picking up somthing not nice. You may want to check you ign map, especially if your still running the stock power fc on or one of the other XS maps from the states.. If you go to this link http://www.nopistons.com/forums/inde...T&f=3&t=11633& I've posted a print screen of my ign map that is a good safe map. I'm not sure if the link will work or not so if it doesn't go to nopistons then go to the single turbo area and it is pinned at the top of the page..

hope this help you out..
Chris

Chris, I'll check it out. My map was lambda-tuned by KDR for a street-ported motor. My point is that many Power FC users get all kinds of knock readings. Essentially, no one that has had knock reading spikes has actually detonated?

I have... I guess me and Jspecracer7 are the only 2 people with good knock sensors or somthing.. If you knock I'd say around a 120+ there is a good chance a apex seal is going by by.. I've got solid engine mounts, tranny mounts, diff mounts and I've reenforced the **** out of my power plant frame and rear sub frame and my knock sensor works great.. Maybe it has somthing to do with the shitty stock motor mounts or the stock twins.

Just as a little side note.. since the datalogit came out a bunch of the supposedly good written maps by tunning shops in the states have been opened to reveal they are basicly very slightly modified stock power fc base maps and most of them have really really dangerous timming maps. I have a DIY wide band, datalogit and I drive around logging A/F ratio's all the time under normal driving conditions where you get a true load on the car. You can't actually tune a car correctly on a dyno due to the load on the car being nothing like what it is on the street unless you have a water brake dyno and I doubt that they have one of those... Try to find sombody with a datalogit that can pull your map off and then e-mail it to me and I'll take a look at it and see if I can find any fishy stuff and maybe clean it up a little for you then e-mail it back..
