This is what I found:

"Date: Mon, 19 Mar 2001 14:42:55 -0800
From: "Attila Fisher" (atihun@home.com)

DO NOT CUT THOSE WIRES!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE BACKWARDS ON THE MANUAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, now that I have your attention, the wires that need to be cut control the EGR valve, the Accelerated Warmup System, and some other smog related stuff.

Make sure that you are looking at the wiring harness correctly. If you still have a problem with them, email me"

The wiring diagrams are confusing and I don't like snipping wires without knowing what the are for.

What is your set up? Are you running a J-spec PFC or US?

I have a J-spec and have yet to install it. Kinda scared to. Maybe this weekend if I get enough info.

ahh yeh, i read it was those a while ago and totally forgot it, lol.

US spec i suppose, v5.08. it was easy to install... except for me trying to fit under the dash to clip the wires, and almost pulling out one of the wrong pins on the PFC and making it a paperweight. arg it was hell. but it should be easy.
