what adjustments need to be made when going to a mid pipe?

I am going to be out of Cali for school, and I was thinking of getting a mid-pipe because I won't have to worry about cali emissions! Would I have to get someone to retune my PFC with a datalogit, or can it be done via the commander? If it is possible with the commander, what would I have to change?

It depends on what other mods have been made to the engine and which base map the PFC has on it. It can be done either way.

I have apexi intake, greddy smic, dp, and cat-back. I am not sure about the map being the base map or not. I bought the car a few months ago, and I haven't changed anything yet except for reliability mods. Well, what I am looking for is just an outline of the things you usually have to change on the PFC when increasing the exhaust flow.

Do not get a midpipe. You are in college, I would leave the car the way it is. A midpipe is a serious mod and you will have to port the wastegate to prevent boost creep as well. Just keep the stock cat (or hi-flow cat).

EDIT: To answer your question, in general, the larger part of the adjustments would be to add more fuel in the boost range.

Again, I repeat: you've had your car a few months and are in college. Leave it alone. Spend your time learning about how the car works and functions as is before messing with it (hint, this will take quite a while).

I had a 2.5inch midpipe with a resonator and similar mods and had no problem with boost control. I have read as has already been stated that a 3inch pipe will only cause problems with a stock waste gate. Porting the wastegate requires the removal of the turbo system, pita if you have never been there before.

I can't tell you if the 2.5 will help that much or not, I second leavin it alone. the more you fiddle with it, the more u will have to! Not a good idea if its a daily driver.
