water temps too low!?@#

I had this one posted in the 3rd gen section, but no one could help me. Maybe you guys can. My PFC reads the water temp at about 35 degrees celcius when fully warmed up., which most of you all probably already know is too low. Anyway, because it doesn't give the accurate reading of between 85 - 100, it won't let me punch the gas, it cuts the fuel or something at about 4000 rpm's. The temperature sensor is fine, because the stock guage in the instrument panel reads the usual temperature(right in the middle). This means that I either have a bad PFC, or their has to be a way to change this. Any help would be great.
Thanks.

verify that you have it hooked to the water temp sensor (and not the fuel temp sensor, which is the same style connector). if the checks out, you need a new sensor. I had to replace mine (88 model) and my friend had to replace that sensor on his 94.

This is all very basic trouble shooting covered in the FSM.

Then it can not be the harness or sensor, so that leaves the PFC. That is if your harness and sensor tests were valid.
We want to here what your final problem was after it is fixed. If not, we will assign the problem as operator error.

Bump!

I'm having the same problem as the o.p.

The water temperature reading on the commander is 35degrees.

The thermister is perfect and within specifications of the user manual.

The more the temperature rises the lower the temperature read by the PFC. Another suspicious thing is that sometimes when I have the datalogit reading from the PFC the water temperature appears as 0 or 1 degrees.

could be a faulty wiring or a messed PFC? Are there any possibilities of re-flashing the PFC?

Any ideas?????
