Was at Apex'i USA Headquarters Garage Sale on Saturday and bought the newly released FC Commander Pro Software for the Power FC ECU. When you purchase it, it comes only with a serial cable with a little decoder unit on it. You need a Serial tp USB bridge to connect to newer computers. Before anyone purchases it, it's only compatible with the following Power FC Models (model is written on Power FC ECU unit):

414-Z005 FD3S5
414-Z006 FD3S6

The software Garage Sale price was $265 from Apex'i USA Headquarters.

Completely random.......but it looks like they missed the opening parenthesis for the “EditE)” menu when they were writing the program.

 

Do you have pic of the decoder you stated in your post??

Does it have ability to add wideband?? If not, I would still prefer datalogit over this.

 

Wait i may be way off but will this be able to let us use the Anti-Lag feature?

 

Not sure if it has the ability of Wideband yet, had no time to play with it.

Yeah, it was with a Rotary Power base tune, dyno crap numbers...Steve Kan is coming to Los Angeles end of April so I'm registered for tuning by the legend himself :-). Here's a quick pic (sorry no scanner).

 

Anti-lag? Not sure what that is, I haven't ever seen the Datalogit Interface.

265$ seems like a good deal. From memory these are retailing for around 400 in Japan.

Are you talking about the 2 step feature similar to the AEM? It allows you to pre-spool the turbo from the line.

 

That's pretty sweet. I should have went but i've never seen anything but dented leftover crap and way too many people in line. I wanted to buy the boost kit but they said none of the good stuff would be on sale. I didn't even know they sold software to non Apexi dealer.

Apex rep said this allows you to change about the same number of parameters as the commander. But may allow some datalogging. Definetly not an FC Datalogit replacement.

Sorry guy's. I'll get you all more information hopefully tonight. To be honest, i kinda jumped ahead of myself when I bought it. I was in line (was in line for ~2.5 hours) at the APEXI garage sale reading the part sale list and I came accross the software listing under the Power FC ECU. I was like holly crap, its actually for sale. WHen I got to the electronics section, the guy said they just got these a few weeks ago and first time for sale. The software isn't just for Rotarys, it is universal (for all Power FC applications) and some options are activitated/deactiviated depending on what car/engine you choose. Now if someone's nice enough to "loan" me a copy of camtasia or something similar, I can screen record some of the functionalities. I'll try to take screen shots of all the functions tonight (going out tonight, if it gets too late then I'll do it tomorrow after work).

I also picked up a APEXI bov (please dont flame me lol, it was $100!) and an Apexi Super Ground kit (also $100).

I think I'm pretty much the first to have the US spec software, so I will do my best to answer everyones questions. Also, it does seem like the Datalogit is superior, but this software is only in v1.10r.

I will take screenshots of ALL functions...

No problem, this forum has helped me solve a gazillion issues and saved me tons of $$$ :-). Just want to contribute to the rotary community.

They didn't give a manual, just instructions on how to download, install, and connect to Power FC. There is a help section in that has some information. I brought my rex to work today with my laptop, so I'll take some screen shots of all screens + menu around 7ish PST. I will have a bunch of new screen-captures up later tonight. I wonder if Apexi has any updates coming along in the near future if this product isn't as robust as Datalogit (that would really be sad if their own product cant do as much as a competing product)
