Surging Idle

I recently put my Idle Air Control valve back on to allow the PFC to control idle when the AC is on. The idle now surges from 800 - 1500 constantly with the AC off. When the AC is on, the engine idles at the specified settings I entered perfectly. I tried adjusting both idle screws, but had no luck. I let the car idle for about a 1/2 hour hoping it just needed to re-learn. I have no emissions controls. Any ideas?

My problem kind of worked itself out. I backed the idle control screws all the way so they barely would touch the stops when the car is warm. The fluctuations still occurred but not as great. The computer also seemed to need more time to re-learn.

If you have the datalogit, adjust the O2 feedback setting down from 1.047 to 1.02 . This desinsitives it a little. Solved my bouncing problem.

I have the same problem and it only happens when the car is started cold. Once I warm it up it stops. It seems like it started happening right after I installed my 3" Downpipe. Just installed a PFC thinking it might do something but the problem remained. It starts at around 800 and continuously surges to 1500 and back for a few minutes then will kick up to a higher RPM and surge up at a higher RPM range... After that it goes to a steady idle for about 30 seconds and then repeats the same cycle by going back to the lower idle. Please tell me that this is a common problem. Mods are as follows: Street Port, 3" Downpipe, Catback and recently PFC.

I am working on a forum members car this week.
He came by today to find a boost leak. Well he has stock hoses so BIG SHOCKER I am doing a vac hose job for the guy.
In anycase, his idle is also fluctuating. I played with the idle screws with not much improvement.
I personally have always used the PMC so I have no experience with the Power FC. I briefly looked through the keypad, or commander I guess you would call it. I didnt see where I could adjust the fuel at idle.
Do you need the datalogit to do that?
I am glad that I have my purple box

ACV has nothing to do with idle speed(emissions only). Idle Speed Control valve is the one that kicks up the idle speed when A/C is on.
