Someone explain to me widebands...

Ok so I though I knew exactly what I needed but now I am confused after looking to buy a wideband O2 setup to read the AFR's on my FD. I am confused by what I need... I know I need a wideband O2 sensor but what else do I need besides the gauges? Some go through controllers and some go through EMC's and some go through your laptop but I just got really confused so someone explain to me in detail what I need and what everything does please... Thanks

First explain what you want to do with a WB. Do you only want one for tuning, for cockpit display and tuning, or cockpit display only?

You have to look at the individual product as some are put together differently. Some come with a display and some have you buy the display separately. All of them output an analog signal to log. The AEM wideband is considered by many to be the least accurate when used for logging/tuning. My old AEM wideband was a piece of **** and never worked right due to a manufacturing problem, and the AEM tech support gave me hell before they let me return it.
